We’re back with Brilliant or Insane’s Wednesday Web Round-Up: a weekly segment where we bring you the most brilliant — and the most insane — story, photo, and video circulating around the web.
Bill Murray: The Best non-Best Man
Most bachelor parties are epic regardless, but what happens when Bill Murray shows up? King of the Freaking Universe (official title) Bill Murray did just that at a Charleston, SC, steakhouse, where a groom-to-be was celebrating his impending nuptials with a group of close friends. The actor gave an impromptu speech about true love after the bachelors bought him a drink.
The Art of What’s Wrong With This World
Polish artist Pawel Kuczynski has been creating instigative, thought-provoking work since 2004. This past week, The Mind Unleashed compiled a gallery of his work from the past decade. Each work is heavy with subtext and metanarrative, so give each piece several long looks. You’ll be surprised how you connect with Kuczynski’s artwork.
Familiar Wake-Up Calls
If you are a dog owner, this video will be all-too-familiar. Those cold noses, nudging paws, and whimpering mews are the worst alarm clock known to man. You can’t hit a snooze button on your four-legged friend, so it’s a matter of how long you can endure the pouncing, scratching, whining, burrowing, and unstoppable determination to get your butt out of bed.
Kim and Kanye Get Married
Kim Kardashian walked down the aisle for the third time this past weekend, wedding Kanye West, the father of her unfortunately-named child, North. The two young parents attempted a secluded LA ceremony, but paparazzi still managed to sneak some blurry photos. What’s so insane about this story? How much people seem to care.
Some Nights Out Should be Nights In
Perhaps the greatest treasure trove on the internet is Tumblr’s Embarrassing Nightclub Photos. This ongoing collection is exactly what it sounds like: Terrible photos of party-hardy people who think they look really, really good. So, if you, like me, need a reminder as to why Netflix was a better choice than the club, just scroll through these photos.
Mobula: Believe They Can Fly
The Pacific Coast town of Baja, CA, was witness to a spectacular display of how amaze-balls nature really is. This video was taken of Mobular Rays, Mobula, which are cousins of the Manta Ray. The Mobula are flat, disc-like creatures that propel themselves above the water in a flawless aerial dance known as “breaching.” I dare you to watch this video without singing, “I Believe I Can Fly.” I dare you.
