My guess is that they are great writers who had previous teachers, formal or informal, who facilitated their motivated writing skills development so that they appear to not need teachers as much now.

The men’s team struggled and are missing this year, accepting an NIT bid. But as they have for something like 17 years in a row (and with 9 championships), the women’s team is seeded #1 again…So the coach, Geno Auriemma, is being interviewed a lot. Germane to this discussion, I believe is a comment he made today: “It’s really, really hard work to make anything look easy – because almost nothing is ever easy.” He was referring to the seemingly easy victories for his team.Back to this post. Nothing (teaching without grades, assessing work and providing MEANINGFUL feedback, helping learning become visible, facilitating PBL, teaching without textbooks, …) is easy UNLESS we work hard enought to get it right – so that it appears easy!!!And by the way, except for a very few learners, the skills associated with effective learning are never easy – UNLESS the learners (with significant assistance from teachers, family, community members, …) work hard to make them appear to be easy!!!
